Multi-drop Delivery Driver
Delivers parcels or goods to multiple addresses, often for couriers or supermarkets. Requires a full UK Category B (car) driving licence; experience with navigation and customer service is beneficial.
HGV Class 1 Driver
Operates articulated lorries for long-distance or local haulage, transporting goods between depots or to clients. Must hold a valid UK Category C+E licence, Driver CPC, and a digital tachograph card.
HGV Class 2 Driver
Drives rigid lorries for deliveries or collections, usually within a specific region. Requires a UK Category C licence, Driver CPC, and digital tachograph card
Transports goods or equipment using a transit or panel van, often for removals, retail, or trade suppliers. Needs a full UK Category B licence; some roles may require manual handling skills.
Minibus Driver
Transports groups of passengers, such as for schools, charities, or events. Requires a Category D1 licence and, for paid work, a Driver CPC; an enhanced DBS check may also be needed.
PCV/Bus Driver
Operates buses or coaches for public transport, private hire, or event shuttles. Must have a valid Category D licence, Driver CPC, and often a clean DBS record.
Home Delivery Driver
Delivers groceries or goods directly to customers’ homes, typically using small vans or cars. Requires a full UK driving licence and excellent customer service skills.
Non-Emergency Patient Transport Driver
Provides transport for patients to and from medical appointments in adapted vehicles. Needs a full UK driving licence; some employers require first aid training and an enhanced DBS check.
Forklift Truck Driver
Operates forklifts to move goods around warehouses or industrial sites. Requires a valid forklift licence (such as RTITB or ITSSAR accreditation); a car licence is usually also necessary.
Chauffeur/Private Hire Driver
Drives clients in executive cars for business, events, or airport transfers. Must hold a full UK driving licence and a private hire licence from the local council.
Event Driver

HIAB Driver
Operates lorries fitted with a loader crane (HIAB) to deliver and unload heavy goods. Requires a Category C licence, HIAB certification, and Driver CPC.
Removals Driver
Drives vans or lorries to help clients move house or office, assisting with loading and unloading. Requires a full UK driving licence (Category B or C depending on vehicle size); manual handling experience is helpful.
Shunter/Yard Driver
Moves HGVs or trailers around depots, yards, or distribution centres. Needs a relevant HGV licence (usually Category C or C+E) and experience with yard operations.
